I bring a special mix of creative direction, operations, strategy, and a whole lot of heart to every project.

I’m Kalin Siegwald

I was the Director of Creative Operations at Very Great where I ran a creative team of eight and managed relationships with nearly 100 freelancers. We were an in-house/agency hybrid and serviced three internal brands: Wild One, w&p, and Courant. I loved leading a team of designers, and have a passion for guiding the branding process. Please find my work from Very Great here. In December 2022, I was laid off due to a company restructuring, and although I enjoyed my time at Very Great, I am excited to be looking for new opportunities.

In my free time, I create work of my own. My illustration and motion graphic projects explore several common themes: delicate details, unearthly delights, colors that feel alive, simple magic, everyday objects, and the world of food. There is a lot out there that feels overly slick or machine-made, and I aim to make my work feel human.

CULINARY STILL LIVES

Food is one of my biggest inspirations. I love grocery shopping, cooking and I’m always stunned by beautiful produce and packaging.

REEL

A collection of my work. This features my illustrations, animation, and video of several projects I completed while receiving my MFA at Savannah College of Art and Design.

It’s hard to determine the genesis of my ideas, but there is a place in my brain that combines myth, Egyptian artifacts, and surrealism into one world, and these illustrations live there.

UNEARTHLY DELIGHTS

MIDDLESEX

This is a title sequence for the book Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides. It uses found footage, and illustration to explore gender identity, mythology, and
the American Dream.
